Managed IT Pricing Based on the Devices We Manage
TechStarters prices managed IT services by the devices we manage, not by the number of people in your company, and you choose an annual agreement or month-to-month. Your monthly price is based on the workstations, servers and network equipment we take responsibility for, so it follows your technology rather than your headcount.
Every quote starts with a free environment review, so you know exactly what is managed and what it costs before you sign.
How Our Managed IT Pricing Works
Each device we manage has its own monthly price, and your plan is billed monthly. Your total is the sum of the devices in your plan, plus any network and cloud services you choose. When you add or retire a device, your plan changes with it.
This keeps pricing clear: you can see what each part of your environment costs, and you only pay for what TechStarters actually manages.
Annual or Month-to-Month: Your Choice
You can choose an annual agreement or a month-to-month agreement. Many managed IT providers require a multi-year contract before they start. With TechStarters, you decide the commitment that fits your business.
What We Price By
- Workstations: each desktop and laptop we manage
- Servers: physical, virtual and cloud servers
- Firewall management: monitoring, updates and security policy management for your firewall
- Wireless access point management: setup, monitoring and updates for your Wi-Fi network
- Other network devices: such as switches and network storage
- Cloud environments: your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace environment can also factor into your price
Per-Device Pricing vs. Per-User Pricing
Many managed service providers charge per user. TechStarters charges per managed device. For many businesses this is easier to plan around:
- Staff who share a workstation do not each add a cost.
- Part-time and seasonal staff do not change your price unless you add devices.
- Network services such as firewall and access point management are separate line items, so you choose what is managed.
- Your invoice lists the actual equipment being managed, which makes budgeting and audits simpler.
If an employee uses both a laptop and a desktop, each one is a managed device. We walk through your device count during the free environment review.

What Changes Your Monthly Price
- The number and type of devices we manage
- How many servers you run and how critical they are
- The size of your network and the number of locations
- Your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace environment
- Security and compliance requirements, such as HIPAA, SOC 2 or CMMC-aligned controls (see our compliance-aligned IT services)
- Backup and disaster recovery needs
- Whether you want fully managed IT or co-managed IT alongside your own IT staff
Why We Do Not Publish a Price List
No two business networks are the same. A price list cannot account for your servers, your security requirements or how many locations you have, and it often leads to surprises later. Instead, we review your environment for free and give you a written proposal with the monthly price for each device, so there are no surprises after you sign.

Managed IT Pricing FAQs
How much do managed IT services cost?
It depends on the devices we manage and the services you choose. TechStarters prices each managed workstation, server, firewall and access point separately, and your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace environment can factor in too, so your monthly cost reflects your actual environment. Request a free environment review for exact pricing.
Do you charge per user or per device?
Per device. Your price is based on the workstations, servers and network equipment we manage, not on headcount. If one person uses a laptop and a desktop, each counts as a managed device.
Do you require a long-term contract?
No. You can choose an annual agreement or a month-to-month agreement.
What is included in the monthly price?
24/7 automated monitoring, security patching, endpoint protection, unlimited remote help desk support Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (excluding major holidays) and ongoing management of your environment, including warranties, renewals and licenses. Onsite visits, after-hours support, projects, hardware and software licensing are billed separately.
Is there an onboarding fee?
Yes. Onboarding is a one-time flat fee. It covers documenting your environment, connecting monitoring and security tools and introducing your team to our help desk.
Is onsite support included?
Onsite support is available any time and is billed separately. Most issues are resolved remotely through our help desk, which is included.
Can we add or remove devices later?
Yes. As your business adds or retires devices, your plan is updated to match.
Is cybersecurity included?
Yes. Endpoint protection is included on every managed workstation and server, along with security patching and monitoring. Additional protection is available through our cybersecurity services.
Do you offer co-managed IT pricing?
